Daniel Bastien

Consultant, translation and editing

From then to now

After two decades in the civil law field, Daniel reoriented his career towards media work, covering topics related to History, space exploration, society, the origins of inventions and the long, epic journey of human communication.

Daniel then turned to a great passion, Formula 1. Starting as a journalist for the F1-Live website, he is hired by ESPN/Disney to co-manage the francophone version of ESPNF1 and write many articles on the known and lesser-known facets of the sport. At the same time, he was a guest columnist on the radio and hosted the Canadian Grand Prix’s Fans Forum in 2016.

At Tesla Canada, he taught how to operate automated driving systems and translated information for the French Canadian market, including the interface aboard all vehicles.

As Consultant, translation and editing, Daniel brings his meticulous touch to Zone franche, where he appreciates the wide variety of subject matter and content entrusted to him.

He still hosts a weekly radio show dedicated to F1 on a Montreal South Shore radio station, in addition to setting up a documentary project on space exploration. During his free time, you will find this great Star Trek and Star Wars fan (one doesn’t exclude the other!) plugged into the news, walking in a forest, practising his gaming console skills or exploring new regions.
